Bridges are important. Often people don't think of a bridge until they're crossing one. It's may be fair to say that they are under appreciated. People often feel no need to cross a bridge because they're perfectly happy to stay on the side on which they find themselves. But for that eventuality--the one where they want to get to that other side, a bridge becomes essential.
Some people are like bridges. They make it possible to cross to the other side. It's a wonderful calling. Helping people to get to the other side--and then return. Sometimes it can be a burden. After all, people are using you to walk a certain distance to get to a destination. People who are bridges can often feel like they might collapse. Sadly, sometimes they do. But for the most part, people who are bridges know how important their function is and they will do their best to keep doing what they do best. Let's raise a glass to bridges!
